Daddy… so soon?

So strong and vital, for so very long.

Time plays no favorites.

I remember the snowballs, the paddling, the hockey, and the fish that came over the dam.

So many races, so few it was us.

Camping “up north”, and in the back yard.

Escaping to the movies.

Your “tennies” out on the steps drying.

Don’t water that grass, it’ll grow.

So many hours in the garage, with you, for you, watching you.

Hut damn-it!

Telling the man about the oil leak when you tried to sell the van.

That’s MY dad.

Butting heads.

The jokes.

The trips to the Classique, Robin’s, Sauk Rapids…

You were always there for me…

A part of me left here with you.
